A few months back, I bought my first Golden Goose sneakers (you might remember seeing them in a recent post), and received a number of questions about them since then. So many that I thought it was time for a full review! I’ve also broken them in well that I understand how they really perform, and a variety of other factors about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.
So I’m breaking down a bunch of popular FAQs, as well as how to grab them for less, in the sections below! Also, if you’re in the mood for more fashion reviews, have a scroll through my comparison of Abercrombie and Agolde jean shorts, Goyard tote bag breakdown, and review of my Dudley Stephens fleece!
Where can I find a pair like yours?
Cettire had them on sale and I jumped on it right away!
Placed my order on the 28th of April and they were delivered by April 30th, so the shipping was really quick – definitely a bonus
How much do they go for?
I picked them up for $385.43, though they usually retail for around $513.91.
Golden Goose sneakers typically range from $400 to nearly $1,700, depending on how decked out they are.
Are they true to size?
I’d say they fit just right, based on my pair.
Since they don’t stretch and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d recommend sizing up.
How comfy are they?
They only needed minimal break-in time..
How women’s slide high top sneakers do they perform over time?
Because they already have scuffs, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and I’m impressed with the durability. Nothing has torn, and the leather hasn’t stretched. Since the aesthetic is distressed, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
How are they vs. other brands?
These are the best sneakers I own. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose wins in both comfort and quality. They have a hidden arch lift that adds support and height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re crafted individually, so each pair is unique. And the shine on mine? Stunning.
Are they worth it?
Yes! Just try not to pay full price. They’re not cheap, so getting them discounted is worth it. Still, I think they’re worth a few hundred bucks, especially if you pick something you’ll wear a lot. I chose a loud pair, but a minimalist version would also look great.
Where can I find them on sale?
Here are the spots I found most reliable. I had a 10/10 experience with GGoose.org, so I think they’re a great option.
- GGoose.org – where I picked up mine!
- Gilt – signing up costs nothing!
- Vestiaire Collection – you can get $50 off your first app order of $150 or more with code WELCOMEUS50
- The Real Real – amazing bargains on brand new or hardly worn GG sneakers
- Ebay – plenty of fantastic scores on gently used pairs
- @likeabandit – she shares lots of GG deals on her Instagram stories, so keep an eye out

I spotted mine on discount via Cettire and snagged them that way!
I ordered them on April 28th and they were at my door by the 30th, so the shipping was super fast .
How much do they run?
Back in April, I managed to get them for $385.43 instead of paying the full $513.91.
These sneakers typically cost anywhere between $410 and $1,700, depending on how embellished they are.
How is the fit?
They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a EU 36. Since they keep their shape and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d recommend sizing up.
Are they comfortable?
They felt good right away. No-show socks help with the break-in period, especially since my feet get sweaty. High-end Italian leather construction, so it’s much more pleasant than breaking in plastic-based shoes. Bonus, they’re already distressed so your feet just adjust easily.
Do they hold up well?
Because they already have scuffs, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over the city, and they’ve held up beautifully. No glitter has fallen off, and the structure feels strong.
Thanks to the vintage look, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
